A pause, a reflection and a church bathed in golden light

This past fortnight has been a reminder that life doesn’t always go according to plan. A misstep on a wet manhole cover left me momentarily out of action, but with the ever-reliable Phil by my side and hubby racing out to pick me up in the car, I made it home in one piece. The enforced pause gave me time to sift through my archive—sometimes a blessing in disguise.

One image stood out. It was taken just before my fall, while out with Dougie, our Shih Tzu. St Mary’s Church at New Inn, framed perfectly from the fields across the road. As I lined up the shot, ready to capture the gentle glow of the setting sun on the church’s stonework, two figures strolled into view. An unplanned addition, but one that brought a sense of life to the scene. Sometimes, the best photographs aren't the ones we envision, but those shaped by a touch of serendipity.

As you can see, I’ve enhanced the image with textures to give it a brushstroke-like feel, my photographic signature so to speak.

Although my walks have been on hold, I’m more than ready to get back out there. Perhaps with a little more caution on wet roads!

Don't forget to 'like' - that's if you do like. Thank you
