Sunday, 18th May 2025: How many times have you been out in the car, driving along and you glance left or right and you see a scene that just screams 'TAKE MY PHOTO'! Well I had one of those moments last Monday, on my way to our club night (Abergavenny Camera Club). Half way over the bridge at Llanellen (very humped back!) I happened to glance right and saw this. A newly, deeply furrowed, ploughed field. Nowhere to stop on this road as you drive out to Abergavenny (usually the case wherever you happen to be driving and see 'that' scene). So, I stored it in my memory bank planning to come back out later in the week. It wasn't until Thursday afternoon I remembered it (memory bank not so good these days!).

The weather was again one of those bright, warmish, sunny, cloudless days and I thought the light would be good given that it would be setting behind me as I took the pics. I set off around 7pm ish and all the time I was thinking 'where on earth am I going to park?' There isn't a pavement on the bridge at all, so I knew I couldn't park then walk over. Did I though, remember seeing a pull in just at the start of the bridge coming from the Abergavenny end? Um? I drove out, over the bridge, glanced to my right and there was the pull in. A car had already parked but there looked to be enough room for maybe 3 cars. At the Hardwick roundabout I turned and speeded as much as I dared back to the bridge, scared that others would take up those precious car spaces up. Nope, the spaces were still there - YAY! Result. Light - check. Location - check. Luck - nope - planning came into play for this shoot. I took about 22 shots, some from the bridge wall itself and some after finding that the gate wasn't locked. Sometimes you just have to go back.... So glad I did.
